Summary:
In 2014, a request for proposal process was completed to purchase the permitting software from Tyler Technologies.
This permitting software is a web-based application that automates and integrates regulatory processes for City staff, members of the public, and contractors. The system supports electronic permit application submission, routing, plan review, fee calculation, approval, issuance, scheduling, and inspection tracking. The software streamlines formerly manual processes and supports the City’s transition to a paperless plan-submittal and review environment. It facilitates collaborative electronic review and approval workflows among multiple City departments, improving coordination, consistency, transparency, and processing efficiency. The solution also equips field inspectors with mobile capabilities to perform and document inspections electronically. Its offline functionality allows inspectors to capture and retain inspection data in areas with limited connectivity, reducing duplicate work, minimizing return visits to customer locations, and supporting timely inspection completion.
The City recommends renewal of contract with Tyler Technologies through April 30, 2027.
There are no Olathe vendors that provide permitting software.

Financial Information:
Annual renewal will be $129,000. Funding will come from the Information Technology Department budget.
