Summary:
The City of Olathe Parks Department recently purchased new playground equipment for Mahaffie Pond Park at a cost of $70,714.86 from PlayCore Wisconsin, Inc. dba GameTime. The new equipment purchase was time sensitive due to a grant opportunity that required purchase by a specified deadline to secure $58,939.71 in grant funding to be put towards the original equipment purchase price.
(Original purchase price $129,654.57 - Grant Funding $58,939.71= $70,714.86)
This amendment is being brought forward as a separate action item to authorize the $51,317.38 installation cost portion of the project. Installation was not included with the initial equipment purchase so the City could meet the grant-related purchase deadline for the equipment while installation scope and pricing were finalized.
Approval of the amendment will allow PlayCore Wisconsin, Inc. dba GameTime to proceed with installation and complete Mahaffie Pond Park playground improvements.
The funds for this project will come from the Neighborhood Park Development Annual CIP Project.
This new equipment will replace the old playground equipment that has reached the end of its useful life. Installation is anticipated in late spring 2026.
