Summary:
On February 28, 2024, four (4) bids were received and opened for the above referenced project. Abay Construction, Inc. submitted the low bid in the amount of $630,872.00. The Engineer’s Estimate was $358,079.00. The following is a tabulation of the bids received:

The project scope had included boring 200 feet of the main, which would have also required the installation of a steel casing pipe. While installing the main by boring instead of open cutting a trench would reduce the impact to traffic, the significant cost increase well exceeded the budget for these improvements. Abay Construction, Inc. was willing to negotiate to remove the required boring from the contract and proceed with a construction contract in the amount of $450,767.00.
This project will replace approximately 900 feet of sanitary sewer main at the 167th Street and Ridgeview Road intersection, in preparation for the 167th & Ridgeview Geometric Improvements Project. The geometric improvements will install a roundabout and will include pavement construction, curb and gutter, medians, streetlights, sidewalk, storm sewers, and all other work pertinent to completing the project.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in Spring 2024 and tentatively scheduled to be completed in Summer 2024.
