Consideration of award of contract to WesTech Engineering for purchase of a new high rate trickling filter mechanism for Harold Street Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Body

Summary:
The current high-rate trickling filter mechanism at Harold Street Wastewater Treatment Plant was installed in 1986 and is at the end of its useful life leading to emergency repairs and risking catastrophic failure. This equipment is critical to meeting regulatory requirements for ammonia and for maintaining the integrity of trickling filter media.
The City issued a bid in September for a new high-rate trickling filter mechanism and received two responses. WesTech Engineering submitted the lower bid and demonstrated stronger relevant experience.
City staff recommend awarding the contract to WesTech Engineering for the purchase of the new high-rate trickling filter mechanism for the Harold Street Wastewater Treatment Plant.
