Summary:
In September 2023, Council approved a three-year contract, with the option for a two-year renewal, with Kaw Valley Engineering, Inc. for on-call geotechnical and testing services for Infrastructure.
Geotechnical and testing services are used to investigate subsurface conditions to determine the physical, mechanical and chemical properties, evaluate stability of slopes and man-made solid deposits, test cement, asphalt and pavement, as well as rock probing to assess risks posed by site conditions in conjunction with earthwork and foundation construction.
Due to the number of projects that have needed these services, additional spend authority is needed to finish out the initial contract term, which ends in October 2026.

Financial Information:
$350,000, to complete the contract term. Funding comes from the project under which the services are performed.
