Summary:

In 2019, the City of Olathe conducted a land use study of the land northeast of the intersection of 119th Street and Renner Boulevard.  Construction of a connecting roadway from Renner Boulevard to Kansas City Road is needed to support the recommendations from the land use study.  This project will extend 118th Street from Conley Street to Kansas City Road to create the connecting roadway.  Improvements will also be made to the intersection of 118th Street and Renner Boulevard.

 

The estimated cost for this project is $7,285,000 including design, utility relocations, staff time, land acquisition, permitting, construction and inspection.

 

This project is tentatively scheduled for design in 2025 and construction in 2026.

Funding for the 118th Street, Renner to Kansas City Road, Improvements Project, as approved in the 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Plan, includes:

No action requested at this time.  Staff will return to Council on January 21, 2025, to request approval for authorization of the project.
