Summary:
This project is needed to address a lack of quality, consistent signage and wayfinding tools in the City of Olathe. The project will allow the City to properly plan for, design and incorporate an improved signage and wayfinding system in parks, on trails, and within unique places. Deliverables will include a Signages & Wayfinding Design guidelines manual and conceptual planning for a pilot project.
On November 01, 2023, the City advertised a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for design firms to provide graphic design services for the project. Thirteen (13) firms responded to the RFQ. After reviewing all proposals, the selection committee chose Tangram Design, LLC as the most qualified firm.
The Agreement is for $74,197 and will include meetings, stakeholder engagement, public engagement, programming, development of Signage & Wayfinding Design Guidelines, cost estimates, and assistance with planning and bidding of pilot project.
This design project is scheduled to begin after approval of the agreement with planned completion by the end of 2024.
