SUMMARY:
The City provides year-round yard waste collection for Olathe residents. The yard waste program has continued to grow over time, largely due to the community's increasing population and participation. Seasonal temporary laborers are utilized to collect yard waste.
Traffic signs, pavement markings, roadway lighting, and signals increase each year with the update and installation of residential and arterial road networks. Traffic Operations utilizes temporary labor to supplement existing Traffic staff in maintaining current and installing new roadside infrastructure.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Anticipated expenditures for the contract term are $470,000. Funding will be from the Solid Waste Fund and Traffic Operations operating budget.
