Body

Summary:
This project will replace the fixtures within the existing light sabers on the 159th Street and Lone Elm bridges over I-35. The new fixtures will have the ability to change colors and motion. Fiber and associated communications equipment will be installed to allow the lights to be remotely monitored and adjusted. The light sabers lenses and wiring will also be replaced.
The existing lights are nearly 20 years old and past their life expectancy. Many of the existing light sabers lenses are cracked and faded out. Some of the existing light sabers are not working and parts are becoming increasingly difficult to find.
The project is tentatively scheduled to occur in Spring 2025.
