Summary:
The existing concession and restroom facilities at the Olathe Girls Softball Complex (OGSC) are outdated and inefficient. Currently, the men’s restroom, women’s restroom, and concession area are housed in three separate buildings. The new facility will consolidate these functions into one contiguous building and will also include dedicated space for umpires/referees as well as an additional storage room.
This agreement, in the amount of $945,000, authorizes Vazquez Commercial Contracting LLC to construct the new combined concession and restroom facility at OGSC. Vazquez Commercial Contracting LLC is an experienced contractor with a strong background in municipal and commercial construction. This project will be procured through Sourcewell, the cooperative purchasing program being used for the work. Vazquez operates under an IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity) contract with Gordian. Under this arrangement, Sourcewell awarded Gordian a professional services contract for building and infrastructure repair and alteration projects, and Gordian then competitively solicited general contracting services using its Construction Task Book.
Construction of the OGSC restroom/concession facility is expected to begin following approval of the agreement, with completion anticipated by March 2027.
