Summary:
On February 11, 2025, four (4) bids were received and opened for the above referenced project. The bids ranged from $2,365,556.81 to $2,903,095.00 with the Engineer’s Estimate at $3,021,574.75. Superior Bowen Asphalt Company, LLC submitted the low and responsible bid at $2,365,556.81. The following is a tabulation of the bids received:

The Valley Parkway Arterial Mill and Overlay Project from Cedar Creek Parkway to 103rd Terrace will provide a 3.5” mill and resurfacing with concrete curb replacement, spot sidewalk replacement, installation of ADA compliant sidewalk ramps and placement of pavement markings.
The Clare Road Arterial Mill and Overlay Project from College Boulevard to 1,000’ south of 114th Street includes a 2” mill and resurfacing with spot concrete curb replacement, installation of an 8’ wide shared use path in select locations on the west side of Clare Road, signal detection replacement and placement of pavement markings.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in Summer 2025 and tentatively scheduled to be competed in Fall 2025.

Financial Impact:
These projects are funded from the City of Olathe’s 2025 Street Preservation Program. Funding for the 2025 Street Preservation Program, as approved in the 2025-2029 CIP, includes:
CIP Fund (Cash) $ 2,800,000
Transportation Sales Tax $18,470,000
Total: $21,270,000
