Summary:
On November 20, 2025, two (2) bids were received and opened for the above referenced project. The bids ranged from $547,824.85 to $571,600.00 with the Engineer’s Estimate at $838,137.00. Superior Bowen Asphalt Company LLC submitted the low and responsible bid in the amount of $547,824.85. The following is a tabulation of the bids received:

This Street Preservation project will provide a 2” depth mill and asphalt overlay on Lakeshore Drive (Dennis Avenue to Santa Fe Street) and include base and subgrade repairs (as needed), placement of pavement markings, and stormwater improvements.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin by Spring 2026 and tentatively scheduled to be completed by Summer 2026.

Financial Impact:
This project is funded by the City of Olathe’s 2025 Street Preservation Program. Funding for the 2025 Street Preservation Program, as approved in the 2025-2029 CIP, includes:
CIP Fund $ 50,000
GO Bonds $ 2,750,000
Transportation Sales Tax $18,470,000
Total: $21,270,000
