Summary:
In 2017, the Fire Department replaced all Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) units, air bottles and fill stations. The Air-Pak X3 SCBA by Scott Safety was selected and Feld Fire Equipment was awarded the bid for the purchase of the equipment.
A subsequent agreement was established for the ongoing maintenance of the SCBA equipment including the purchase of replacement parts, calibration and air quality testing of SCBA fill stations and labor costs of equipment repair.
Feld Fire Equipment is an authorized service provider for Scott Safety, the manufacturer of the SCBA equipment and fill stations in use by the Fire Department. Feld Fire Equipment is the closest authorized vendor to ensure that repairs are performed in a timely manner by qualified technicians.
Staff is recommending the contract renewal with Feld Fire Equipment for a period of four (4) years.

Financial Impact:
Estimated expenditures over the course of this (4) four-year contract are $150,000 and will come from Fire’s operational budget.
