Summary:
This project is in place to repair or replace components within the existing Advanced Transportation Management System (ATMS). The ATMS is a series of underground fiber optics that allow the City to control our network of traffic signals. Since the City started installing underground fiber in the 1990’s, over 139 miles of fiber have been installed. Work on the system will include: installation of tracer wire in older conduit systems so that locates can be completed accurately on the infrastructure, repair or replacement of damaged conduits, installation of additional fiber cables and enclosures to meet increasing demands for City communication needs, and replacement of electronic devices within the ATMS system.
The cost for this project is $100,000. Costs may include the purchase of materials and equipment based on current price agreements and construction or repairs of existing or new facilities utilizing on-call contracts.
