Summary:

The Cedar Creek sanitary sewer basin serves the area approximately west of Lone Elm Road from the northern edge of the City boundary at K-10 to the southern edge of the City boundary near 175th Street (see Attachment A - Project Location Map). This sanitary sewer basin serves over 15,500 residential and business parcels.  This sanitary sewer basin includes over 210 miles of gravity sewer and 5,000 manholes.  Sanitary sewer is collected and treated at the Cedar Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant on 119th Street.

On February 7, 2025, the City advertised a Request for Qualifications for Program and Project Management services that included but was not limited to engineering studies and sanitary sewer system modeling work. Eleven (11) firms responded to this request and Freese and Nichols, Inc, was selected based on the submitted qualifications for sanitary sewer system modeling and study work.

The proposed agreement with Freese and Nichols, Inc. will include the full development of a sanitary sewer hydraulic model for the Cedar Creek sanitary sewer basin.  The hydraulic model will help refine the scope of future CIP projects in the Cedar Creek basin.  The total cost of this agreement is $275,000.
