Accept the report. Unless directed otherwise, staff will prepare the ordinance for formal consideration on July 21, 2026.

Summary:
Every summer, staff prepares updates to sections of the Olathe Traffic Ordinance within the Olathe Municipal Code (“O.M.C.”) to align them with state law; make changes proposed by the prosecutors, police, or others; and make technical corrections. These changes can be found in the proposed Ordinance 26-XX (Attachment A). Source legislation for those changes aligning the O.M.C. with state law are also attached (Attachment C).
The attached Summary of Proposed Changes (Attachment B) provides additional detail regarding the proposed ordinance.
