Summary:
This project will improve safety and capacity along Dennis Avenue from Hedge Lane to Parker by widening Dennis Avenue to a 3-lane roadway. Improvements will include pavement construction, curb and gutter, storm sewer, street lighting, sidewalks, bike lanes, a traffic signal at Hedge Lane and all other work necessary to complete the project.
On April 20, 2024, the City advertised a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for engineering firms to provide design services for the project. Three (3) firms responded to the RFQ. After reviewing all the proposals, the selection committee chose HNTB Corporation as the most qualified firm.
The total amount of the agreement is $1,899,780 and will include survey of existing conditions, utility coordination, public involvement, geotechnical exploration, acquisition documentation needed for any right-of-way or easements, preliminary and final design for all roadway items, cost estimates, and assistance as needed throughout construction.
The project is tentatively scheduled for design in 2026-2027, right-of-way acquisition and utility relocations in 2027-2028, and construction in 2028-2029.
