Summary:
This Agreement will reimburse 50% of the construction costs associated with improving deficient stormwater assets along 135th Street (Indian Creek to Pflumm Road), 119th Street (Sunset Drive to Ridgeview Road), and Kansas Avenue (Spruce Street to Harold Street). As part of these arterial mill and overlay projects, forty-three (43) failing CMP stormwater pipes will be replaced with new reinforced concrete stormwater pipes.
This project was chosen to be funded by Johnson County’s Stormwater Management Advisory Council (SMAC) in the amount of $1,496,300 (50% of $2,992,600). In order to accept this funding, the City must approve this Agreement with Johnson County.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in Spring 2026 and tentatively scheduled to be completed in Fall 2026.

Financial Impact:
Approval of this agreement will result in $1,496,300 funding from Johnson County SMAC for the 2026 CMP Replacement and Stormwater Asset Management Project, PN 2-R-000-26. As a result, the funding of this project will increase from what was approved in the 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Plan.
