Two votes are needed:
1) Make a motion and vote to close the public hearing.
2) Make a motion and vote to consider approval of Ordinance No. 26-35 adopting amendments to the Major Street Map.

Summary:
The Olathe Major Street Map shows proposed locations of residential, collector, and arterial streets, as well as expressways and freeways. The Olathe Major Street Map was last adopted by ordinance in 2016. Since then, Olathe has grown, planning boundaries have changed, new neighborhood streets have been platted, and Johnson County has updated its Comprehensive Road Network Plan (CARNP). An updated Major Street Map is needed to reflect these changes and to respond to ongoing growth and development. This map also reflects changes made to the Main Trafficways Ordinance adopted on April 21, 2026.
The proposed ordinance (Attachment A) would approve and adopt the updated 2026 Major Street Map (Attachment B) and continue the Intersection Right of Way Requirements (Attachment C) originally adopted with the current Major Street Map in 2016.
A public hearing is required to amend the Major Street Map under K.S.A. 12-765. The Notice of Public Hearing was published in The Legal Record on June 16, 2026.
