Consideration of Ordinance No. 26-48 adopting the 2027 City of Olathe Budget.

Summary:
The City Council has invested a significant amount of time this summer considering the City Manager’s 2027 Proposed Budget. To recap, the following budget presentations/discussions have taken place:
• Budget Workshop #1 on July 7th to review the General Fund, Debt Service Fund, and Library Fund budgets, as well as the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).
• Budget Workshop #2 on August 4th to review the Water & Sewer Fund, Stormwater Fund, and Solid Waste Fund budgets and the utilities CIP.
• Budget Workshop #3 on August 18th to review Recreation, Park Sales Tax, Street Maintenance Sales Tax, and Tourism & Development Fund budgets, as well as the CIP.
• Statutorily required Public Hearing conducted on September 8th to allow individuals and organizations an opportunity to provide input on the proposed budget.
The 2027 Budget is presented this evening for final City Council approval. The budget is due to the County Clerk on or before October 1st. The draft budget, all budget presentations, and all Q&A documents have been posted to the City’s budget webpage at www.OlatheKS.gov/Budget.

Financial Information:
The 2027 total budget for all funds is $657,597,627.
