Summary:
The City of Olathe has a price agreement with Olathe Winwater Works for the purchase of fire hydrants, extensions and hydrant repair kits. Olathe Winwater Works supplies fire hydrants and related equipment to the City for repair, replacement and new service.
Staff recommends the renewal of this agreement and authorization for the purchase of one hundred twenty-five (125) fire hydrants from Olathe Winwater Works for the Hydrant Replacement Project.
Olathe Winwater Works is an Olathe vendor.

Financial Impact:
Funding for the Hydrant Replacement Project (PN 5-C-030-24), as approved in the 2024 Capital Improvement Plan, includes the following sources:
Revenue Bonds $285,000
The cost for sixty (60) Kennedy Fire Hydrants from Olathe Winwater Works is $198,000. The remaining $87,000 in project funds will be spent on additional materials and contracted services and will be brought to future Council Meetings as required.
