Consideration of a Professional Services Agreement with Black and Veatch Corp. for design of the Renner Pump Station Generator and Electrical Improvements Project, PN 5-RF-003-24.

Body

Summary:

The Renner Pump Station Generator was installed in 1984 with the original facility construction. It is beyond its intended service life and most replacement parts can no longer be obtained. This project was originally designed as an additive alternate to the Harold Street WWTF Generator Replacement Project in 2019. The project was bid in early 2020 but was not awarded at that time due to lack of funding.

The generator replacement was reauthorized under the Remote Facilities Improvements Project to be included along with other needed improvements at Renner Pump Station. Design services under this $113,705 Professional Services Agreement include updating the original design to current revised building codes, incorporating additional improvements to the motor control centers and electrical equipment, and making structural and coating repairs in the pump room.

The project was awarded a $791,000 HUD Economic Development Initiative Community Funding Project grant with approval of the FY2024 Federal Budget. Design services will incorporate HUD-specified criteria to ensure the project meets the requirements of the grant funding.

Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2025 with completion in Fall 2025.
