Summary:
On December 17, 2020, five (5) bids were received and opened for the above referenced project. The bids ranged from $910,500.00 to $1,105,500.00 with the Engineer’s Estimate at $1,320,000.00. Gunter Construction Company submitted the low and responsible bid in the amount of $910,500.00. The following is a tabulation of the bids received:

This project will include the replacement and relocation of the existing Hedge Lane Lift Station. The existing lift station has reached the end of its useful life and presents traffic safety concerns in its current location. The upper steel portion of the lift station which houses the pumps and controls is in poor condition. Located just off the northwest corner of the intersection of Dennis Avenue and Hedge Lane, components of the lift station have been damaged by vehicle collisions on multiple occasions. The replacement of this lift station will minimize risk, optimize performance, improve efficiency, and decrease operations and maintenance costs.
Construction of the new lift station is scheduled to begin in February 2021 and tentatively scheduled to be completed in Fall 2021.

Financial Impact:
Funding for the Hedge Lane Lift Station Project, as approved in the 2019-2023 Capital Improvement Plan, includes:
Revenue Bonds $1,308,000
Water/Sewer Fund $ 100,800
Total: $1,408,800
