RECOMMENDED MOTION(S):
Approve Ordinance No. 26-37 annexing approximately 70.99 acres into the corporate
boundaries of the City of Olathe.

Summary:
In accordance with K.S.A. 12-520(a)(7), Susan L. Wolfert Trust (“Petitioner”) submitted a petition to annex approximately 70.99 acres of land located north of W. 175th Street and on both sides of U.S. 169 Highway (Exhibit A). The property lies contiguous with the corporate boundaries of the City of Olathe and is within the City of Olathe’s Growth Area. Annexation of this property will eliminate an enclave of unincorporated land that adjoins the city boundary on three sides.
The petitioner is pursuing annexation and future industrial development of this property, and annexation is required prior to zoning and development. This property is designated as Industrial on the Future Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan.
The annexation request was on the July 7, 2026 City Council meeting as a report item.
