Accept the report. Unless directed otherwise, staff will prepare the ordinance for formal consideration on July 21, 2026.

Summary:
Every summer, staff prepares updates to sections within Title 9 of the Olathe Municipal Code (“O.M.C.”) to align them with state law; make changes proposed by the prosecutors, police, or others; and make technical corrections. This year’s changes can be found in the proposed Ordinance 26-XX (Attachment A). Source legislation and statutes for those changes aligning the O.M.C. with state law are also attached. (Attachment C).
The attached Summary of Proposed Changes (Attachment B) provides additional detail regarding the proposed ordinance.
