Summary:
In accordance with K.S.A. 12-520(a)(7), Merejo Dussair with Fair Acres, LLC (the “Petitioner”) has submitted a petition for annexation of approximately 55.92 acres of land (Exhibit A) located northwest of W. 175th Street and Woodland Road (ANX24-0005), which lies contiguous with the corporate boundaries of the City of Olathe. The property is bisected by Highway 169, and is within the City of Olathe’s anticipated growth area. The property is designated on the Future Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan as Employment Area.
The Petitioner is pursuing annexation as they desire to sell the property to be rezoned and developed, and annexation is required prior to rezoning. A specific use for the property has not been identified at this time.

Future development of the property will result in an increase in the City’s real property tax collections.
