Consideration of renewal of contract to INSCO Industries, Inc. for the painting of fire hydrants.

Summary:
The Utilities Maintenance Section of Infrastructure has a program in place to paint 10%
of the city’s 6,089 fire hydrants per year. Painting extends the fire hydrant’s life and
improves the “curb appeal” of the asset. Painted fire hydrants improve the citizens’ and
customers’ confidence in the maintenance of the city’s water system.
INSCO Industries has been the City’s painting contractor since 2019 and has
performed the requirements of the contract to the City’s satisfaction.
Staff recommends renewal of this contract for three (3) years.

$195,000.00 for a three (3) year contract, to be paid from the Water and Sewer Fund.
