Report on a request for annexation of approximately 1.32 acres located at 16040 S. Black Bob Road and approximately 6.25 acres located at 16090 S. Black Bob Road (ANX24-0006).

Summary:
In accordance with K.S.A. 12-520(a)(7), Laura Kenny Revocable Trust (“Petitioner”) has submitted a petition for annexation of one (1) property with a total land area of approximately 1.32 acres (Exhibit A) and Michael and Jennifer Perdaris (“Petitioners”) have submitted a petition for annexation of one (1) property with a total land area of approximately 6.25 acres (Exhibit B). Both properties lie contiguous with the corporate boundaries of the City of Olathe.
Both properties are located southwest of W. 159th Street and S. Black Bob Road. This property is within the City of Olathe’s Growth Area and is designated on the Future Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan as Conventional Neighborhood and Secondary Greenway. The adjacent church to the north intends to pursue development of the properties for recreational facilities supporting church activities.
The petitioners are requesting annexation of both properties as annexation is required prior to zoning and development of each property.

Financial Impact:
Annexation and future development of the property will result in an increase in the City’s real property tax collections.

Accept the report. Unless otherwise directed, staff will place the Ordinance for annexation on a later City Council agenda for formal consideration.
