Summary:

This project, Cedar Creek Trail, will receive revenues from a JCPRD Trail Development Fund Program (TDFP). These funds will be used for a new pedestrian bridge over the new spillway at Cedar Lake Park as part of the dam reconstruction. The length of this bridge is approximately 200 feet.

This agreement will allow JCPRD to grant the City of Olathe $200,000 to be used for the engineering, purchase and installation of the pedestrian bridge. This pedestrian bridge will allow the City of Olathe to build a looped trail around the park in the future. Paved trails that will connect to the new bridge will be built in the near future after the completion of the Cedar Lake Dam project.

Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in Fall/Winter 2026 with completion anticipated in Summer 2027.
