Summary:
On November 21, 2023, the City Council approved Resolution 23-1072 authorizing $14,450,000 of funding for the project as approved in the 2024-2028 CIP. Since November 2023, staff engaged the architect and general contractor to plan, design, and begin construction of the project.
This Resolution will authorize the full $15,600,000 of general obligation bond funding necessary for the project. Approval of this resolution is necessary to allow for the approval of an agreement for construction management services and other project expenses for furniture, equipment and utilities.
Pending approval of this Resolution, staff will immediately move forward with the construction and furniture/equipment procurement phase of the project. Planning and design concluded in Q4 2025. Construction began in Q1 2025 and is anticipated to be complete by Spring 2026.

Financial Impact:
Funding for the Fire Station No. 9 project is $15,600,000 of General Obligation Bonds.
