Summary:
On March 25, 2024, four (4) bids were received for concessions supplies for the City’s Recreation Department. The Recreation department of Quality of Life purchases concessions supplies for sale at the various aquatic and sport facilities throughout the city.
Sysco Kansas City, Inc. was the second lowest bidder with a 1.78% difference from the lowest bid. This is within the two (2) percent threshold that allows award of contract to the local vendor per ordinance 3.50.140 Local Preference Standards.
Staff recommends award of contract to Sysco Kansas City, Inc. (Olathe vendor) for a one (1) year period with the option to renew.
146 vendors were notified of this bid; one is an Olathe vendor.

Financial Impact:
Annual anticipated expenditures for the contract term are $75,000. Expenditures will be charged to the Recreation operational budget.
