Summary:
This project will expand the existing control room at Water Treatment Plant No. 2 and upgrade the existing control room operating equipment to current cyber-security standards to coincide with the City’s Water and Wastewater SCADA Security project, PN 5-C-008-21. This project will also rehab the existing Fluoride chemical feed room at the Water Treatment plant for future repurposing.
Both of these items were originally included as alternatives in the bids that were received for the WTP2: Chemical Feed and Electrical Modifications and Improvements Project on May 18, 2023. At that time, these two alternatives were not awarded in the original contract with Crossland Heavy Contractors, Inc. while the City pursued alternative funding for these items through the federal government’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. With this funding in place, this contract will allow these improvements to now be constructed concurrently with the originally awarded improvements. The total price for these improvements is $439,652.
These improvements will be constructed as part of the WTP2: Chemical Feed and Electrical Modifications and Improvements Project which is currently underway. It is anticipated that these improvements will begin in Fall 2024 and tentatively be complete by Fall 2025.
