Summary:
During routine inspection of City sanitary sewer mains, it was discovered that a section of a 15” main had failed along a storm channel north of 141st Terrace. To ensure sewage is unable to leak into the environment and to prevent further progression of the failure in the pipe that could lead to sewer backups, immediate action is required. To protect against future failures, the adjacent mains of the same age and materials will be replaced.
The City has previously pre-qualified several contractors for On-Call Water and Sewer Rehabilitation Services. City staff contacted our six On-Call Water and Sewer Rehabilitation Service contractors to solicit bids for the construction of these sanitary sewer repairs. Leath & Sons, Inc. provided the sole and lowest responsible bid in the amount of $1,236,850.00. Funding for these repairs will be paid from the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation program.
Work will begin immediately upon delivery of the materials needed and construction is tentatively expected to last through Summer 2026.
