Summary:

This is a request to renew a special use permit to continue motor vehicle sales at 1501 E. Santa Fe St. and 142 N. Burch Street for Car City. The subject property is currently zoned C-3 (Regional Center) District, requiring a special use permit allowing motor vehicle sales per UDO 18.20.500.

 

The site is currently developed with an existing 5,000-square-foot building and accessory structures with surface parking used for customer/employee parking and the display of vehicles. No changes to the building and site are proposed at this time, and additional trees and shrubs have been planted since the Planning Commission meeting to comply with the approved landscape plan. The applicant is amenable to all recommended stipulations and the five (5) year renewal time period.

 

The Planning Commission held a public hearing on June 22, 2026, and no public comments were provided for this application. The Planning Commission voted 6-0 to recommend approval of SU26-0002 as presented in the meeting minutes.
