Summary:

This agreement authorizes Kansas Heavy Construction, LLC to construct the Well Field Erosion Repair project. The project consists of repair and stabilization of erosion of a drainage ditch within the City’s vertical well field adjacent to the Kansas River including grading, placement of riprap stone for slope protection, and turf reinforcement.

On September 11, 2026, four (4) bids were received and opened for the above-referenced project. The following is a tabulation of the bids received and the Engineer’s Estimate.

Kansas Heavy Construction, LLC submitted the lowest responsive bid in the amount of $487,000. The bid amount exceeded the Engineer’s Estimate primarily due to higher mobilization and embankment costs.
