Body

Summary:

The Renner Pump Station Generator was installed in 1984 with the original facility construction. It is beyond its intended service life and most replacement parts can no longer be obtained. This project was originally designed as an additive alternate to the Harold Street WWTF Generator Replacement Project in 2019. The project was bid in early 2020 but was not awarded at that time due to lack of funding.

The generator replacement was reauthorized under the Remote Facilities Improvements Project to be included along with other needed improvements at Renner Pump Station. The project was also awarded a $791,000 HUD Economic Development Initiative Community Funding Project grant with approval of the FY2024 Federal Budget.

On February 4, 2025, two (2) bids were received and opened for this project. The bids ranged from $1,267,050.00 to $1,628,550.00 with the Engineer’s Estimate at $2,083,470.00. All bid totals include the selected additive bid alternate and owner’s allowance. Crossland Heavy Contractors submitted the low and responsible bid in the amount of $1,267,050.00. The following tabulation of bids received:

Crossland Heavy Contractors, Inc.                                          $ 1,267,050.00

                     MegaKC Corporation                                                                                    $ 1,628,550.00

                     Engineer’s Estimate                                                                                                         $ 2,083,470.00

Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2025 with completion in Fall 2026.
