Summary:
On February 12th, 2026, two (2) bids were received and opened for the above referenced project. The bids ranged from $3,775,953.78 to $4,567,025.44 with the Engineer’s Estimate at $3,927,160.50. McAnany Construction, Inc. submitted the low and responsible bid in the amount of $3,775,953.78. The following is a tabulation of the bids received:

Freeman Concrete Construction, LLC $ 4,567,025.44
Improvements will include milling and asphalt resurfacing, base and subgrade repairs (as needed), concrete curb and gutter replacement, pavement markings, traffic detection loops and storm sewer replacements. The Kansas Avenue project will include reconstruction of Prairie Street (east of Kansas Avenue), installation of a concrete shared use path on the east side, maintenance to the bridge over Mill Creek, and replacement of streetlights between Spruce Street and Mill Creek. The 119th Street project will also include the installation of a concrete shared use path on the south side.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in Spring 2026 and tentatively scheduled to be completed in Fall 2026.

Financial Impact:
This project is funded from the City of Olathe’s 2026 Street Preservation Program authorized on January 20, 2026. Authorized funding for the 2026 Street Preservation Program includes:
G.O. Bonds $ 2,800,000
Street Maintenance Sales Tax $16,134,208
Total: $18,934,208
