Summary:
Infrastructure Support Services Vehicle Maintenance is seeking award to Snap-On Industrial for the replacement of technician toolboxes.
Current technician toolboxes are over 20 years old, undersized, and overloaded. Many of the toolboxes have been modified to hold more tools than they can handle. The toolbox drawers can hold over 300 pounds. Staff must move these boxes around the shop and because they are overloaded, they are difficult to maneuver. Most of the boxes are not in a condition that allows them to be locked. These toolboxes are our technicians’ “offices” where they store thousands of dollars of tools, their iPad workstation, and personal items.
Upgraded toolboxes will improve the safety and efficiency of the technicians and help with employee retention and recruitment.
A total of 15 rightsized toolboxes are included in the quote. The toolboxes are being purchased through a cooperative agreement.
