Summary:
This project includes the conversion of city-owned streetlights from high pressure sodium to LED fixtures and the maintenance of aging streetlight infrastructure. Conversion to the LED fixtures will result in potential energy savings to the City due to lower electricity costs. Simple payback on the investment is expected in approximately 9 years. All fixtures on city owned streetlights along arterial and collector roadways have been upgraded to LED fixtures. Staff is currently replacing the fixtures on residential streets. To date, approximately 1,500 residential fixtures have been converted to LED with approximately 2,650 remaining.
This Resolution will authorize $150,000 to be spent on conversion of streetlights from high pressure sodium to LED fixtures and the maintenance of aging streetlight infrastructure in 2026.
