Summary:
In accordance with K.S.A. 12-520(a)(7), Philip Besong with Rococo Investments LLC (“Petitioner”) submitted a petition to annex approximately 6.98 acres of land located southwest of W. 167th Street and S. Ridgeview Road (Exhibit A). The property lies contiguous with the corporate boundaries of the City of Olathe and is within the City of Olathe’s Growth Area. Annexation of this property will reduce the size of an enclave of unincorporated land that adjoins the city boundary on four sides.
The petitioner is pursuing annexation and future residential development of this property, and annexation is required prior to zoning and development. This property is designated as Mixed Residential Neighborhoods on the Future Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan.
