Consideration of renewal of contract to Core and Main for the purchase of water meters and associated supplies.

Summary:
The Facility Conservation Improvement Project (FCIP) for Public Works was approved
by Council in 2009 (Ordinance No. 09-52) and included the replacement of water
meters throughout the City with meters from Sensus USA.
Meters purchased under this agreement will be used for FCIP replacements as well as
new service installations and non-FCIP replacements. The City has Sensus water
meters installed, and the meters read into the Sensus AMI. Core and Main is the local
distributor for Sensus water meters.
Staff recommends renewal of contract with Core and Main for purchase of Sensus
water meters through January 31, 2027.

Financial Impact:
Expected yearly expenditures are $675,000.00. Expenditures under this contract will
be charged to the Water and Sewer Fund. A portion of this cost will be offset with
revenues collected when new service permits are applied and paid for.
