Consideration of Ordinance No. 26-08 (ANX26-0001) requesting approval to annex approximately 4.70 acres located northeast of W. 175th Street and Lone Elm Road.

Summary:
In accordance with K.S.A. 12-520(a)(7), Michael A. & Pernille B. Andree (“Petitioners”) have submitted a petition for annexation of one (1) property with a total land area of approximately 3.76 acres and Lineage Logistics, LLC (“Petitioners”) has submitted a petition for annexation of one (1) property with a total land area of approximately 0.94 acres (Exhibit A). Both properties lie contiguous with the corporate boundaries of the City of Olathe.
Both properties are located approximately ¼ mile north of W. 175th Street and directly east of S. Lone Elm Road. This property is within the City of Olathe’s Growth Area and is designated on the Future Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan as an Employment Area.
The petitioners are requesting annexation of both properties as annexation is required prior to zoning and development of each property. The annexation would eliminate an enclave within the City, which is an unincorporated area surrounded by property already within the City. The annexation request was on the January 20, 2026 City Council as a report item.

Financial Impact:
Future development of the property will result in an increase in the City’s real property tax collections.

Accept Ordinance No. 26-08 (ANX26-0001) annexing approximately 4.70 acres into the corporate boundaries of the City of Olathe.
