Summary:
On March 12, 2024, one (1) bid was received and opened for the above referenced project. McAnany Construction, Inc. submitted the low and responsible bid in the amount of $5,779,382.17. The Engineer’s Estimate was $5,073,248.68. The following is a tabulation of the bids received:

Improvements on Sheridan Street (Dennis Avenue to Mur-Len Street) will include milling and asphalt resurfacing, base and subgrade repairs, concrete curb and sidewalk replacement, installation of ADA compliant sidewalk ramps, placement of pavement markings, stormwater improvements, streetlighting, and installation of an 8’ concrete shared use path on the north side of Sheridan Street (Lindenwood Drive to Mur-Len Road) and the west side of Mur-Len Road (143rd Street to Pioneer Way). Waterline improvements will be completed on Sheridan Street (Rogers Road to Clairborne Road) and Clairborne Road (Sunvale Terrace to Willow Drive). Replacement of approximately 3,700 feet of waterline will be replaced in coordination with the street project to reduce the costs to restore the street and the time of disturbance to the residents and traffic in the area.
Improvements on Santa Fe will include milling and asphalt resurfacing, traffic signal detection replacement, and placement of pavement markings. This project will focus on repair of the asphalt pavement to ensure the street can remain in good condition until additional improvements are made with the Santa Fe and I-35 interchange project.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in Summer 2024 and tentatively scheduled to be completed in Fall 2024.

Financial Impact:
This project is funded from the City of Olathe’s 2024 Street Preservation Program. Funding for the 2024 Street Preservation Program, as approved in the 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Plan, includes:

Street Maintenance Sales Tax $ 20,160,000

Waterline improvements are funded from the City of Olathe’s Waterline Rehabilitation Program. Funding for the 2024 and 2025 Waterline Rehabilitation Program, as approved in the 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Plan, includes:
