Summary:

This agreement allows Great Southern Recreation, LLC to be responsible for the purchase and installation of playground equipment, playground safety surfacing (synthetic turf), musical features, and inclusive features at Woodbrook Park.

 

Staff researched other playground manufacturers and determined that Great Southern Recreation is the right firm to provide equipment, inclusive features and safety surfacing because their offerings provided the best value to the City of Olathe.

 

The total cost is $227,494.01. Great Southern Recreation has their own, experienced construction team. OMNIA Partners is the cooperative purchasing agreement being utilized for purchasing these unique playground features.

 

This manufacturing of the equipment is scheduled to begin after approval of the agreement. The new playground will be completed by May 2026.
