Summary:
During the 2023 biennial bridge inspections, it was discovered that the northwest wingwall of Bridge 56 (the RCB under Santa Fe next to the downtown library) was rotating and had separated from the adjacent reinforced concrete box (RCB). Replacement of this wingwall was recommended.
On September 17, 2024, three (3) bids were received and opened for the above referenced project. The bids ranged from $111,422.0 to $187,368.00 with the Engineer’s Estimate at $145,027.80. Pyramid Contractors, Inc. submitted the low and responsible bid in the amount of $111,422.00. The following is a tabulation of the bids received:

Improvements will include replacing the rotated wingwall and repairs to the headwall of the culvert under Santa Fe. Additionally, sidewalk repairs to the Dennis Avenue bride adjacent to Lake Olathe will be made as part of this project.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in Fall 2024 and tentatively scheduled to be completed in Spring 2025.

Financial Impact:
This project is funded from the 2023 Structure Repair Projects and 2024 Structure Repair Projects.
