Summary:
The current policy for the sale of surplus property (City Council Policy F-10) requires that property estimated at a value of $50,000 or more will be brought to the City Council for a decision on whether to dispose of the property. On October 1, 2024, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 24-38 amending Olathe Municipal Code Chapter 3.50 (Procurement Policies) which moved the competitive bidding threshold and the City Manager’s purchasing authority to $100,000. Attachment A is a proposed resolution to change the threshold in Policy F-10 from $50,000 to $100,000. Staff recommends making this change to bring the policy in alignment with the new procurement threshold.
