recommended motion:
A motion to approve Resolution No. 26-1081.
________________________________________________________________________________
Summary:
Renewal of permits upon expiration are currently charged a pro-rata fee based upon percent of construction complete. This resolution will authorize updating this fee to be 50% of the original building permit fee, which is in alignment with the City’s municipal code, ICC standards and surrounding municipalities.
The 2027 Fee Schedule, adopted through Resolution 26-1079 on September 15th 2026, includes this updated renewal fee, and will be in effect January 1, 2027. Resolution No. 26-1081 authorizes the City to implement this fee change earlier in the interim, which will reduce administrative burden.

Financial Information:
Revenue from this fee goes toward the General Fund’s licenses and permits revenue category. Authorizing this change to expired permit renewals may result in additional revenue, but that is not the reason for the change.
