Summary:
This project includes the conversion of city-owned streetlights from high pressure sodium to LED fixtures. Conversion to the LED fixtures will result in potential energy savings to the City due to lower electricity costs. Simple payback on the investment is expected in approximately 9 years. All fixtures on city owned streetlights along arterial and collector roadways have been upgraded to LED fixtures. Staff is currently replacing the fixtures on residential streets. To date, approximately 1,300 residential fixtures have been converted to LED with approximately 2,850 remaining.
This Resolution will authorize $270,000 to be spent on conversion of streetlights from high pressure sodium to LED fixtures in 2025.
