Summary:
On March 14, 2024, the City of Olathe opened bids for the demolition of city-owned buildings at 1040 W. Spruce Street and 404 N. K-7 Highway. Midland Wrecking was the only bidder to that Invitation to Bid (IFB) and submitted a cost of $148,983.
Midland Wrecking’s proposal allows for the required abatement of asbestos materials, the removal of five buildings, the removal of almost one acre of asphalt/concrete pavements, the removal of approximately 1,000 feet of fence, utility disconnections, and the regrading/seeding at these city-owned sites.
Midland Wrecking has provided quality demolition services throughout the City of Olathe, most recently completing the demolition of the Masonic Lodge (December 2023) and 11740 S. Conley Drive (March 2024).
City staff recommend the approval of the agreement with Midland Wrecking for the demolition of City of Olathe facilities located at 1040 W. Spruce Street and 404 N. K-7 Highway
