Item Description: Consideration of an Agreement with Johnson County for construction of the Indian Creek, 139th and Brookwood Ct., Stormwater Improvements Project, PN 2-C-031-16.

Summary:
On November 20, 2018, City Council awarded a contract to Pyramid Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $2,644,196.35 for construction of the Indian Creek, 139th and Brookwood Ct., Stormwater Improvements Project. The project includes replacement of a culvert with a bridge, reconstruction of street pavement, channel widening, retaining walls, storm sewer improvements, and the elimination of the flood risk to eight (8) homes identified within the 100-year floodplain through project improvements, and one (1) home buyout with demolition.
This project was chosen to be funded by Johnson County’s SMAC program in the amount of $2,511,812 (75% of $3,349,082) for the design and construction of the project. In order to accept this funding, the City must approve an inter-local agreement with the Johnson County SMAC program.
Construction will begin this Winter, with completion in Spring 2020.
